Heka Acoustic pendant lamp Krog
Krog is a pendant lamp with a shade made of 12 mm PET felt that lights the table below and damps the sound at the same time. The felt shade acts as an absorber exactly where the conversation happens.
It makes sense in meeting rooms, canteens, receptions and corners for informal meetings. It comes with an E27 socket or a built-in LED module with warm white light at 3000 K, and the cable length is adjustable up to 1500 mm.
Because the felt is matt and creates no glare, the light is soft and suitable for screen work. It is available in ten colours.

Technical data — Krog
Materials and construction
Material: 100% polyester (PET felt), with at least 60% recycled content from used plastic bottles according to supplier data. The panels are fully recyclable.
Density: 9 mm approximately 1,900 g/m², 12 mm approximately 2,400 g/m², 24 mm from 3,500 to 4,000 g/m².
Fire classification: EN 13501-1, class B-s1,d0 as certified by the supplier (individual batches B-s2,d0 — we enclose the certificate for the actual batch with the delivery).
Emissions: OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and REACH, free of formaldehyde, low emissions of volatile organic compounds.
Shade: 12 mm PET felt, three diameters. Electrics: 230 V, protection class I, E27 socket up to 15 W or built-in LED module 3000 K. Cable: adjustable up to 1500 mm, with a ceiling rose.
Acoustics and absorption
The shade is made of 12 mm PET felt and works as a freely suspended element: αs 0.15 / 0.45 / 0.65 / 0.85 / 1.10 / 1.25 at 125, 250, 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz, NRC 0.75 for a suspended felt element.
For suspended elements, the figure that counts in a project is the equivalent absorption area Aobj in m² per unit to ISO 354.
A fair warning: the lamp covers a small area and will not calm a room on its own. Its purpose is local: it absorbs the sound above the table, where the conversation happens. For a measurable drop in reverberation time, combine it with ceiling islands or wall panels.
The values stated come from the data sheets of the PET felt, measured to ISO 354:2003 or ASTM C423-22 and classified to ISO 11654:1997. They apply to material of this thickness with the installation described. For a specific room we prepare a reverberation time calculation based on the floor plan.
Installation
The lamp is supplied with a ceiling rose and an adjustable cable of up to 1500 mm.
Connection: to a 230 V supply, protection class I. The connection should be made by a qualified person in line with the regulations for electrical installations.
Light source: in the version with an E27 socket, use an LED bulb of up to 15 W. The version with a built-in LED module 3000 K is supplied ready for connection.
Height: above a meeting table we normally set the lower edge 700 to 900 mm above the table top, so that the lamp does not block the view between the people talking.
Care and cleaning
In normal use the felt needs no special care. Vacuum it regularly with an upholstery attachment or clean it with a soft brush, about twice a year.
Remove individual stains with a slightly damp cloth and a mild detergent, then let the surface air dry. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, solvents or steam cleaners.
A damaged panel can be replaced on its own, so the pattern does not have to be renewed as a whole.
Disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning. Vacuum the shade with an upholstery attachment; do not clean the inside with a damp cloth.
Delivery and lead times
Standard sizes: production and delivery 2 to 3 weeks.
Made to measure: 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the size of the order.
Delivery: Slovenia and the EU with our own vehicles or through a forwarder. For larger projects we agree on floor-by-floor delivery and an installation schedule.
Returns: 14 days for standard products, as provided by law. Made-to-measure products are excluded.

Frequently asked questions
Which diameter should I choose?
Ø 600 mm above a smaller table for four, Ø 800 mm above a standard meeting table, Ø 1000 mm above a large table or as an element in its own right in a room with a high ceiling.
What is the difference between E27 and the LED module?
With an E27 socket you choose the bulb yourself and can replace it later. The built-in LED module 3000 K gives an even warm white light and needs no bulb changes.
Does the felt heat up because of the lamp?
Not with LED sources of up to 15 W. Do not use conventional filament bulbs or halogen lamps.
Can I order a two-colour version?
Yes, the outside and the inside of the shade can be in different colours. We prepare that version on request at sales@heka-interior.com.
How many lamps do I need above a long table?
Above a table longer than 2400 mm we normally hang two or three lamps in a row. We set the spacing so that the lighting is even.
Does the lamp replace ceiling acoustics?
No. It covers a small area and works locally above the table. To calm a whole room, combine it with ceiling islands or wall panels.

What you get besides the product
Acoustics are a project, not an item. So along with the panels you get a calculation, samples and someone to talk to who also makes the product.
Our own production
Cutting to size, edge finishing and final work are done in the Hit Preless production facility in Medvode, and the felt comes from suppliers we have vetted. That is why a custom size is the rule here, not the exception.
Recycled PET felt
The material is made of recycled polyester, free of formaldehyde and low in emissions of volatile compounds. At the end of its service life it is recyclable.
Honest figures
We publish the absorption without an air gap and with one. The difference between the two classes is made by the installation, not by an advertising figure.

Heka Interior is a brand of Hit Preless from Medvode. In the same facility where custom furniture for offices and hotels is made, we also produce acoustic linings. That is why special sizes, lengths and versions are feasible even in small batches.
