Heka Acoustic slat panel
The slat panel combines the warmth of wood with the performance of felt. Veneered oak or walnut slats are fixed to a 9 mm felt backing, and the gaps left between them let sound into the absorbing layer.
The result is a wall that looks calm and valuable and at the same time lowers reverberation. We make the slats in our own Hit Preless production facility, so we can adapt the length, the spacing and the veneer even for smaller batches.
They are used in reception areas, meeting rooms, executive offices and hotel spaces. We supply the panels in standard lengths or cut to the exact room height, with no surcharge for the cut.

Technical data — Slat panel
Materials and construction
Material: 100 % polyester (PET felt), with at least 60 % recycled content from used bottles according to supplier data. The boards are fully recyclable.
Density: 9 mm approximately 1,900 g/m², 12 mm approximately 2,400 g/m², 24 mm from 3,500 to 4,000 g/m².
Fire classification: EN 13501-1, class B-s1,d0 according to the supplier's certificate (for individual batches B-s2,d0 — the certificate for the particular batch is supplied with the delivery).
Emissions: OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and REACH, formaldehyde-free, low emissions of volatile organic compounds.
Slats: veneered and lacquered, profile 27 × 13 mm, spacing 13 mm. Backing: 9 mm PET felt in black, anthracite or light grey.
Fire classification of the slats: depending on the version D-s2,d0 or B-s1,d0 with a protective coating. State the requirement in your inquiry, because it affects the price and the lead time.
Acoustics and absorption
The slats are fixed to 9 mm PET felt. Classification to EN ISO 11654 for slatted panels on a felt backing:
- Directly on the wall: class D
- With a 45 mm air gap: class C
- With 45 mm of rock wool behind: class A
An honest note: we take these values from the published table of a manufacturer of slatted panels on 8 to 9 mm PET felt, and they match the classification for PET felt of this thickness. For our exact slat profile and spacing we are preparing our own measurement to ISO 354. Until then, on projects that require a proven class we recommend the version with a substructure and infill, which reaches class A reliably.
The values quoted come from the data sheets of the PET felt, measured to ISO 354:2003 or ASTM C423-22 and classified to ISO 11654:1997. They apply to material of this thickness in the mounting described. For a specific room we prepare a reverberation time calculation based on the floor plan.
Installation
Screws straight into the wall: the quickest version, with the panel sitting on the wall. The lowest absorption, because there is no air gap.
Adhesive and screws: the combination for uneven walls, where the adhesive levels out and the screws hold.
30 mm timber substructure: creates an air gap that improves absorption noticeably. The substructure and the infill are priced in the quotation.
Fit the panels vertically, with the gaps running along the height of the room. Before installation let them acclimatise for at least 48 hours in the room where they will be fitted.
Care and cleaning
In normal use the felt needs no special care. Vacuum it regularly with an upholstery nozzle or clean it with a soft brush, roughly twice a year.
Remove individual stains with a slightly damp cloth and a mild detergent, then let the surface air-dry. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, solvents or steam cleaners.
A damaged board can be replaced on its own, so the pattern does not have to be renewed as a whole.
Wipe the wooden slats with a dry or slightly damp cloth along the grain. Do not use furniture care products with wax or silicone, because they clog the surface of the felt between the slats.
Delivery and lead times
Standard sizes: production and delivery 2 to 3 weeks.
Made to measure: 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the size of the order.
Delivery: Slovenia and the EU with our own vehicles or through a forwarder. For larger projects we agree floor-by-floor delivery and an installation schedule.
Returns: 14 days for standard products in line with the law. Made-to-measure products are excluded.

Acoustics are decided at the design stage, not when the space is handed over. We send architects and specifiers data sheets, an absorption calculation for the actual floor plan and drawings to place in the project.

Can I get the panel at the exact height of the room?
Yes. Cutting to height is included in the price. State the final dimension when ordering; the standard lengths are 2400, 2700 and 3000 mm, and shorter panels are cut from them.
What is the difference between the backing colours?
A black backing emphasises the depth of the gap and visually separates the slats. Anthracite looks softer, while light grey brightens the whole wall and reduces the contrast between the slats.
Are the slats made of solid wood?
The standard version is veneered and lacquered. We prepare a solid wood version on request, as it affects the weight, the price and the lead time.
What about the fire classification?
According to supplier data the felt backing is class B-s1,d0. Depending on the version, the slats are D-s2,d0 or B-s1,d0 with a protective coating. For public buildings state the requirement in your inquiry, as it affects the price and the lead time.
Can I mount the panel on the ceiling?
Yes, with a suitable substructure. Ceiling mounting requires mechanical fixing into the load-bearing structure; we advise you before production, because it affects the layout of the slats.
How do I clean the panels?
Wipe the slats with a dry or slightly damp cloth along the grain and vacuum the felt between them with a narrow nozzle. Do not use furniture care products with wax, because they clog the surface of the felt.

What you get besides the product
Acoustics are a project, not an item. That is why, along with the boards, you get a calculation, samples and someone to talk to who also manufactures the product.
Our own production
Cutting to size, edge finishing and final work are carried out in the Hit Preless production facility in Medvode, and the felt is sourced from proven suppliers. That is why a custom size is the rule, not the exception.
Recycled PET felt
The material is made of recycled polyester, free of formaldehyde and with low emissions of volatile compounds. At the end of its life it is recyclable.
Honest figures
We publish the absorption both without an air gap and with one. The difference between the two classes is made by the installation, not by an advertising figure.

Heka Interior is a brand of Hit Preless from Medvode. In the same production facility where bespoke furniture for offices and hotels is made, we also manufacture acoustic wall finishes. That is why special sizes, lengths and versions are feasible even in small batches.
