Heka Ceiling baffle Linea
Linea is a vertically suspended ceiling absorber in the form of a slat. The baffles hang in parallel rows at a spacing of 200 to 500 mm, which lets lighting, ventilation and fire-safety services pass through without any alteration to the ceiling.
Because sound enters from both faces of the slat, the performance per unit is high, so even a relatively small share of ceiling coverage brings a noticeable drop in reverberation time.
The system suits open-plan offices, school halls, sports halls, restaurants and industrial spaces with exposed services. The suspension kit with steel cables is included in the price.

Technical data — Linea
Materials and construction
Material: 100% polyester (PET felt), with at least 60% recycled content from end-of-life plastic bottles according to supplier data. The panels are fully recyclable.
Density: 9 mm approximately 1,900 g/m², 12 mm approximately 2,400 g/m², 24 mm from 3,500 to 4,000 g/m².
Fire classification: EN 13501-1, class B-s1,d0 as confirmed by the supplier (for individual batches B-s2,d0 — the certificate for the particular batch is supplied with the delivery).
Emissions: OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and REACH, free of formaldehyde, low emissions of volatile organic compounds.
Thickness: 24 mm. Suspension: two height-adjustable steel cables; the kit is included in the price of every baffle.
Acoustics and absorption
Baffle system at the given spacing: αs 0.11 / 0.23 / 0.34 / 0.51 / 0.62 / 0.68 at 125, 250, 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz.
For a single baffle, project documentation states the equivalent absorption area Aobj in m² per unit to ISO 354, because this is a freely suspended element.
An honest note: the values given apply to the system at a specific spacing and distance from the ceiling. Wider spacing means less total absorption, even when the individual baffle is the same. That is why, on projects, we calculate total absorption from the number of units and Aobj, not from the αs of the ceiling area.
The values given come from the data sheets of the PET felt, measured to ISO 354:2003 or ASTM C423-22 and classified to ISO 11654:1997. They apply to material of this thickness in the installation described. For a specific room we prepare a reverberation time calculation based on the floor plan.
Installation
Every baffle comes with two height-adjustable steel cables.
Fixing: into a structural ceiling or into a suitable load-bearing substructure. When installing, allow for the position of light fittings, ventilation grilles and the sprinkler system.
Spacing: choose the closer spacing of 200 to 250 mm in rooms with strong reverberation, and the wider 400 to 500 mm when the ceiling should stay more open. State the spacing when you place the order.
Orientation: as a rule we hang the baffles at right angles to the longest axis of the room, to break the longest reflection paths.
Care and cleaning
In normal use the felt needs no special care. Vacuum it regularly with an upholstery nozzle or clean it with a soft brush, roughly twice a year.
Remove individual stains with a slightly damp cloth and a mild detergent, then let the surface dry in the air. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, solvents or steam cleaners.
A damaged panel can be replaced on its own, so the pattern does not have to be renewed as a whole.
In tall spaces the baffles are usually cleaned once a year by the cleaning contractor with a lifting platform.
Delivery and lead times
Standard sizes: production and delivery 2 to 3 weeks.
Made to measure: 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the size of the order.
Delivery: Slovenia and the EU with our own vehicles or through a forwarder. For larger projects we agree floor-by-floor delivery and an installation schedule.
Returns: 14 days for standard products, in line with the law. Made-to-measure products are excluded.

Acoustics are decided at the design stage, not when the space is handed over. To architects and specifiers we send data sheets, an absorption calculation for the actual floor plan and drawings to place into the project.

Frequently asked questions
How many baffles do I need?
It depends on the floor area, the room height and the materials already in place. In an open-plan office, covering 20 to 30 per cent of the ceiling is often enough. Send the floor plan and the room height and we will prepare a calculation.
Which spacing is the right one?
From 200 to 250 mm when the reverberation is pronounced, and from 400 to 500 mm when you want a calmer look. The spacing has a direct effect on total absorption.
Do the baffles get in the way of the lighting?
No, provided the spacing is matched to the lighting grid. That is precisely why baffles are often a better answer than a solid ceiling lining in spaces with a lot of services.
Is the suspension kit included?
Yes, two height-adjustable steel cables are included in the price of every baffle.
Are the baffles suitable for sports halls?
Yes, they are a common answer for spaces with a high ceiling and hard surfaces. For sports halls we agree a suspension height that is safe for the way the space is used.
How are the baffles cleaned?
You vacuum them with an upholstery nozzle during the routine cleaning of the room. In tall spaces this is usually done once a year by the cleaning contractor with a lifting platform.

What you get besides the product
Acoustics are a project, not an item on a list. So along with the panels you get a calculation, samples and someone to talk to who also makes the product.
Our own production
Cutting to size, edge finishing and final work are carried out in the Hit Preless plant in Medvode, and the felt comes from suppliers we have vetted. That is why a custom size is the rule, not the exception.
Recycled PET felt
The material is made of recycled polyester, free of formaldehyde and low in emissions of volatile compounds. At the end of its life it is recyclable.
Honest numbers
We publish absorption both without an air gap and with one. The difference between the two classes is made by the installation, not by an advertising figure.

Heka Interior is a brand of the company Hit Preless from Medvode. In the same plant where furniture made to measure for offices and hotels is produced, we also make acoustic panelling. That is why special sizes, lengths and versions are feasible even in small batches.
