Heka Partition screen Duo
Duo is a free-standing acoustic wall for dividing up an open space without any building work. It is made of a 24 mm felt infill in a slim metal frame and stands on two sheet-steel feet.
It comes as a single panel or as a folding set of two or three panels on hinges, which can be set up in an L-shape or a zigzag. That arrangement increases both stability and the acoustic effect.
It is used to separate work islands, meeting corners and circulation routes. Because it is not fixed to the floor, you can move it whenever the team or the office layout changes.

Technical data — Duo
Materials and construction
Material: 100 % polyester (PET felt), with at least 60 % recycled content from used plastic bottles according to supplier data. The boards are fully recyclable.
Density: 9 mm approximately 1,900 g/m², 12 mm approximately 2,400 g/m², 24 mm from 3,500 to 4,000 g/m².
Fire classification: EN 13501-1, class B-s1,d0 as confirmed by the supplier (on individual batches B-s2,d0 — the certificate for that particular batch is enclosed with the delivery).
Emissions: OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and REACH, free of formaldehyde, low emissions of volatile organic compounds.
Infill: 24 mm PET felt. Frame: slim steel profile, powder-coated. Feet: two in 6 mm sheet steel. Colour of frame and feet black, white or grey.
Acoustics and absorption
24 mm felt infill (ASTM C423-22): αs 0.25 / 0.45 / 0.88 / 1.06 / 0.85 / 0.97 at 125, 250, 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz. NRC 0.80, SAA 0.82.
Because the wall stands free in the room, sound enters it from both sides, so for the same surface area it is more effective than a panel glued to the wall.
An honest caveat: a partition screen is not sound insulation. It will not make a conversation behind it inaudible, but it does lower the level of reflection and breaks the direct path of sound between two work groups. When you need a confidential conversation, choose the Tiho acoustic booth.
The values stated come from the data sheets for the PET felt, measured to ISO 354:2003 or ASTM C423-22 and classified to ISO 11654:1997. They apply to this material thickness with the installation described. For a specific room we prepare a reverberation time calculation based on the floor plan.
Installation
The wall is delivered assembled; you only screw on the two feet. The single-panel version needs just two feet, while on the two- and three-panel versions the panels are joined by hinges.
Positioning: place a single-panel wall at right angles to the direction of movement. Open a two- or three-panel wall into an L-shape or a zigzag — a straight line of three panels is less stable.
The colour of the frame and feet is chosen from black, white and grey; state your choice when ordering.
To move it around the room while in use, choose the Mobil model on castors.
Care and cleaning
In normal use the felt needs no special care. Vacuum it regularly with an upholstery nozzle or clean it with a soft brush, roughly twice a year.
Remove individual marks with a slightly damp cloth and a mild detergent, then let the surface air-dry. Do not use aggressive cleaners, solvents or steam cleaners.
A damaged panel can be replaced on its own, so the whole layout does not have to be redone.
Delivery and lead times
Standard sizes: production and delivery 2 to 3 weeks.
Made to measure: 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the size of the order.
Delivery: Slovenia and the EU with our own vehicles or through a forwarder. For larger projects we agree on floor-by-floor delivery and an installation schedule.
Returns: 14 days for standard products in line with the law. Made-to-measure products are excluded.

Acoustics are decided at the design stage, not at the handover of the space. To architects and specifiers we send data sheets, an absorption calculation for the actual floor plan and drawings to place into the project.

Frequently asked questions
How many panels should I choose?
One panel separates two workstations. Two panels in an L-shape close off a corner for an informal meeting. Three panels in a zigzag create a small zone that stands on its own with no further support.
Can the wall tip over?
Feet in 6 mm sheet steel give the single-panel wall sufficient stability in normal use. For the three-panel version we recommend an angled arrangement, which is considerably more stable than a straight line.
Is the wall the same colour on both sides?
Yes, the standard version is the same colour on both sides. A two-colour version is made on request.
Can I pin anything to the wall?
Yes, the felt surface holds pins, so the wall also serves as a working surface during a workshop.
What is the difference between the Duo and Mobil models?
Duo stands on two steel feet and is intended as a more permanent way of dividing a space. Mobil has four swivel castors with brakes and is meant for rooms that change through the day.
Do you supply walls made to measure?
Yes, widths from 800 to 1600 mm in 100 mm steps and heights of 1600 or 1800 mm. Other sizes are prepared on request at sales@heka-interior.com.

What you get besides the product
Acoustics are a project, not a catalogue item. That is why, along with the panels, you get a calculation, samples and someone to talk to who also manufactures the product.
Our own production
Cutting, edge finishing and final work are carried out in the Hit Preless production facility in Medvode, and the felt comes from suppliers we have vetted. That is why a custom size is the rule here, not the exception.
Recycled PET felt
The material is made from recycled polyester, free of formaldehyde and low in emissions of volatile compounds. At the end of its service life it is recyclable.
Honest figures
We publish the absorption both without an air gap and with one. The difference between the two classes is made by the installation, not by an advertising figure.

Made in a production facility that fits out whole buildings
Heka Interior is a brand of Hit Preless, a company based in Medvode. In the same production facility where bespoke furniture for offices and hotels is made, we also produce acoustic panelling. That is why special sizes, lengths and versions are feasible even in small batches.
