What is Workplace Design Conference?
Workplace Design Conference is a regional conference on workplace design organised by the Ljubljana architecture studio Kragelj arhitekti. This is its ninth edition. Attendees come from eleven countries, speakers from thirteen, and the core audience is company leadership, owners, office managers, architects and investors from the region between Ljubljana, Zagreb, Budapest and Prague.
The 2026 theme is Build Your Workplace Castle: how to design safe, strong and high-performance organisations. Speakers include Daaf Serné (PlaceWorks Advisory, Netherlands), Arn Willems (InterCapital Real Estate, Croatia), Paige Hodsman (Saint-Gobain Ecophon, United Kingdom) on workplace acoustics, Aleš Lisac (Lisac & Lisac) and Asaël Akkerman (Workplaced, Netherlands). The day is moderated by Dr Nigel Oseland (Workplace Unlimited) and Izabela Eržen (Kragelj arhitekti).
Why is Heka a Gold partner?
Because this year's theme starts with us. A castle needs a foundation, and in an office that foundation is the workplace itself: the desk that goes up, the chair that fits the person in it, the cabinet that was drawn before the services were, and the acoustic cladding that keeps an open floor usable after ten in the morning.
Heka is the office furniture brand of Hit Preless, a manufacturer that has been making furniture in Medvode, Slovenia, since 1986. More than 80 people work here, in roughly 4,000 m² of our own production space. We do two things: we supply ergonomic office furniture from stock, and we deliver complete office fit-outs with custom joinery from our own workshop.
Our most recent project of this kind is Delavska hranilnica in the Vilharia building in Ljubljana: six floors and 293 workplaces, with the interior designed by Kragelj arhitekti. Before that we fitted out 1,200 workplaces for NLB and offices for Triglav, Lelosi and the Volvo service centre.

The stand is designed as a small modern office where you can try everything, not just look at it:
- Ergonomic chairs: sit down, adjust the lumbar support and armrests and compare models from our range of ergonomic office chairs.
- CoreLift sit-stand desk: an electric lifting frame with a made-to-measure top. You can build the same desk at home in the 3D configurator and place it in your own room in augmented reality.
- Custom furniture and acoustics: samples of reception desks, tea kitchens, fitted wardrobes and acoustic cladding from our workshop. More on the custom furniture page.

How do I get tickets for WDC26?
Tickets are sold by the organiser at workplacedesign.si. There is a Conference ticket, a Premium ticket with the closing Mastermind session, and a virtual ticket for remote attendance. The programme opens with registration at 8.30 and closes with networking until 17.00.
