Types of office chairs
An office chair is chosen according to who will sit on it and for how many hours a day. That is why our range is divided into groups that differ in mechanism, backrest and purpose.
Ergonomic office chairs
Ergonomic office chairs are the standard choice for computer work. Most have adjustable seat height, lumbar support, a synchro mechanism and adjustable armrests. They suit both the office and a home workplace.
Active chairs
Active ergonomic chairs have a moving seat that follows the movements of the body. They are meant for people who want to change their posture more often while sitting.
Executive chairs
Executive chairs have a higher backrest and more representative materials, including leather or a fabric of your choice. They are chosen for management offices.
Conference chairs
Conference chairs are intended for meeting rooms, training rooms and reception areas where people sit for shorter periods. They often have a simpler mechanism or a fixed frame.

How to choose an office chair
A good office chair adapts to its user. Check these five things before you choose.
- Time spent sitting. For several hours of daily work, choose an ergonomic or active chair with more adjustments. For meetings and occasional sitting, a conference chair is enough.
- Adjustments. Seat height, seat depth, lumbar support and armrests matter most. The more adjustments a chair has, the easier it is to fit it to different users.
- Mechanism. A synchro mechanism tilts the seat and backrest in a coordinated way, so your back stays in contact with the backrest when you lean back.
- Backrest: mesh or upholstery. Mesh lets air through and is pleasant in warmer rooms. An upholstered backrest is softer and looks more closed. We describe the differences in the article Mesh or upholstered office chair.
- Base and castors. For hard floors such as parquet or laminate, soft rubber castors are suitable, for example SilenceRoll; for carpets, hard castors.

Adjusting an office chair
Adjust the chair while sitting all the way back on the seat. Use the gas lift lever to lower or raise the seat until your feet rest flat on the floor and your knees are at an angle of roughly 90 degrees. Align the lumbar support with your lower back and set the armrests so that your forearms are parallel to the desk and your shoulders are relaxed. Heka is a Slovenian office furniture brand of Hit Preless from Medvode, a company with its own joinery production, upholstery and vehicle fleet. For most chairs you choose the fabric and colour, and for companies we can also use a corporate colour or embroider a logo into the backrest. Most chairs come with a 3-year warranty; the details are given for each product. After the warranty expires, we carry out paid servicing in Medvode, for example replacing the gas lift, repairing the mechanism or fitting a new cover.
